JEMBER ANNUAL GLOBAL MODEL UNITED NATIONS

Jember Annual Global Model United Nations (JAGOMUN) is an event carried out by UKM UNEJ MUN CLUB. This is an international event which aims to serve as a forum for all young people as future world leadership candidates in training their views and thoughts on issues that occur in the international world from various perspectives of countries in the world

Previously on JAGOMUN 2022

Jember Annual Global Model United Nations 2022 is the biggest event of the UKM UNEJ MUN Club in the form of a simulation of the United Nations assembly at the international level. JAGOMUN 2022 was held for the first time online in 2022. JAGOMUN 2022 has managed to make a great start by gaining 100+ delegates from 9 countries (Indonesia, Philippines, Zambia, Spain, Russia, India, United Arab Emirates, Cambodia, Saudi Arabia); attracting 11 Chairs from Indonesia, the Philippines, and Nepal; receiving support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Indonesia, and The Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolutions; and supporting by the Rector of the University of Jember, Governor of East Java Province, Consul-General of the Republic of Indonesia in Frankfurt, and the United Nations Representative for Indonesia.

Words of Remark from Jagomun 2024 Secretary General

Razita Zaafarani Zahran,

Youth are the main pioneers in bringing change to the world. The small steps taken by youth can mean a lot for the next 5-10 years. Currently, the world is not doing well. We still have so many issues like violence, war, crime that are happening around us or in many other parts of the world. As we know, crime and conflict can happen anywhere. Moreover, anyone can experience violence and threats. That means, there is still a lot we need to improve in upholding human rights to be able to feel safe in life. 

What do young people need to be able to play a role in upholding human rights around them? The first thing is they need to educate themselves and apply it in their daily lives. Cause crime and violence in society or even the world must start from each individual. We should be able to take part in building a peaceful society that is aware of human rights. 

We hope that the Jember Annual Global Model United Nation can help young people to realize their role in society. So, small movements and conference forums that we organize can contribute to the involvement of youth for future generations. We also hope that this event can have a positive impact on delegates, students, and even the society.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

All youth within the age range of 17-25 years old can participate in the Jember Annual Global MUN 2024

Yes, all delegates will be entitled to a participation certificate witha minimum attendance requirement of 80% or attendance at least 4 of 5 committee sessions total

Yes, you can choose your preferred country and council while registering, but be aware that you need to complete your payment fast enough so you will be prioritized for your preferences

No, JAGOMUN 2024 is friendly to MUN beginners. You can still join the conference even if you have no previous experience

All purchases are non-refundable. If you can’t attend the conference, your position can be replaced with someone else.
